Parrots &
Hook Bills
Our standard procedure
for raising our chicks :
We spoon feed our
baby parrots and hookbills, and spend a lot of time with them
at feedings and continue their socializing time. They are ABUNDANCE WEANED AND SELF WEANED when they are ready, usually around
16-20 weeks. We typically close band our babies
around 10 days. Our baby’s are well socialized in a family
home and have been exposed to many sights and sounds which aids
in their coming environment change.
Our babies go to
their new home with a written health guarantee, a hatch certificate,
and basic information packet. We try to expose our babies to lots
of fresh fruits and seeds and nuts and so on to give them a healthy
balanced diet. Our goal is to have them completely weaned onto
a pellet based diet for easy of customer feedings, but it should
be noted that most parrots type birds should be offered additional
fruits and veggies and seeds to make sure they are getting all
their nutritional needs.
We allow all our
babies to fledge as we believe it makes for a happier, healthier,
and more balanced development in our chicks.
If so desired the
chicks can be seen by purchaser
AFTER 10 WEEKS OF AGE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Shipping Prices and Information:
We have a STANDARD CARGO SHIPPING RATE OF $150/BIRD
FOR ALL PARROTS & HOOKBILLS (includes kennel with perch that
you can use to travel with your bird and the health certificate
required for shipping ).
You can also use counter to counter shipping for added safety
for bird(s), but this method has ADDITIONAL COSTS THAT VARY DEPENDING ON TIME OF SHIPMENT
AND CARRIER. We will quote
you price for this service if requested. We also can offer wooden
crates that offer more security to bird and is recommended for
longer destination flights.
We recommend you
have your qualified avian veterinarian check your bird within
3 days or arrival, and have them do the health tests. We can do
the health tests for you, at an added cost of $250.00.
All paperwork (health
certificate, hatch certificate, species and care information)
will also be sent. Tell us your closest major airport and we will
try to arrange non stop flights, to reduced stress of your bird
during shipping. All information will be confirmed within 24 hrs
of shipping, you will be contacted with air bill number to enable
you to claim your bird at airport as soon as possible. We also
will call back to make sure you received your bird.
Payment Methods:
Too reserve a baby,
we require 25% OF STATED
PRICE ON OUR PRICE LIST, AND THIS DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. This will come off the purchase price.
The rest of the purchase price is due at pick up or before delivery.
We do not except deposits on babies which do not exist yet, we
only reserve babies we have on the ground. Once we receive your
down payment, we will keep you updated every couple of weeks with
new pictures etc sent via email if so desired.
THE BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE
FOR COST OF BIRD, FLIGHT, SHIPPING FEES, AND ALL TESTING FEES
EITHER THROUGH US OR THEIR OWN AVAIN VET.
All our babies must
be fully paid for before leaving our premises. You can pay via
cash, certified check, or money order. If you pay with personal
or business check, we will wait 10 days approx for the funds to
clear before shipping. MAKE
